Dark Fantasy / Intimacy, Power, and Systems
Intimacy is not Safety. It is structure.

The World of Darkness Visible

A Dance With Darkness Visible is a dark fantasy romance set in a world where survival is biological, love is dangerous, and power is inherited through blood.

Orcs (uruhks) societies revolve around scarcity: of women, of viable heirs, of control. Pregnancy is an arms race. Romance is never private.

Humanity survives behind ancient Walls, protected by weapons that now make them dominant. Beyond those Walls lie uruhk clans, necromancers, dragons, and lands still scarred by ancient wars that were never truly won. Containment is failing. Bloodlines are consolidating. The next generation will be far more powerful than the last.

In this world, "fated mates" may not be blessings-- but biological locks that bind survival to intimacy, violence, and impossible choices. Love does not save the world. It reshapes it.

Each book follows a central couple who reach a Happily Ever After on their own terms--but those terms are forged in a world that rewards ruthlessness, remembers weakness, and never forgets who holds power.

This is romance without rescue or redemption. Fantasy without mercy or justice. A love that survives not because it is pure--but because it is chosen, again and again, under catastrophic constraints.

Content Advisory: This series contains depictions of violence, coercive power structures, reproductive exploitation, and morally compromised relationships. It does not offer comfort--but it does offer clarity.

Author's Note
I did not set out to write a comforting romance. I wrote the book that arrived when I stopped trying to make it palatable.

This series reflects a world where systems of control persist because they work--and where love exists not as reformative, but as commitment under impossible conditions.
